Divorce
Divorce is the legal process of ending a formal married relationship. The process of divorce was simplified extensively in 1973 and by subsequent procedures to provide a relatively straightforward procedure. We can assist in connection with divorce procedure from the outset of a case through to its conclusion. The difficulty with divorce is generally the complexity of decisions concerning finance and children, and these matters are far more involved and take longer to resolve.
Financial Issues
Commonly known as Ancillary Relief proceedings in Divorce Law, but applicable with different rules to some non-married relationships this involves the process of resolving financial issues between separating couples to try to make the best provision for all of the parties concerned. This is sometimes, of course, a very difficult procedure but we attempt to make the process as clear as possible. The issues can be resolved, after advice, by consent or mediation or ultimately, if all else fails by court proceedings, where a decision is imposed by a Court upon the parties. We can assist with all of these methods of dispute resolutions, including full representation at Court, where necessary. We can also, within this area, deal with problems relating to maintenance, both for spouses, where appropriate and children, and provide assistance with child support problems
