Wills and Probate
Andrew Edge and David Lane provide advice in our specialist department dedicated to providing advice in connection with the making of wills, including advice on trusts and tax issues and associated tax planning for inheritance. We also have a full probate service which can include an executor service, acting as Trustees, acting as executors and Trustees, managing estates and trusts, Inheritance tax returns and submission of an application for probate. Effectively dealing with the entire administration of an estate from initial instruction to final distribution.
Our service can include dealing with estates where there is a will, or where there is no will, commonly known as intestacy. We pride ourselves on our sympathetic service at a time which is usually very traumatic and emotional and we can take over the entire administration of the estate if so required.
We also have specialist knowledge in connection with litigious probate matters, this is where a will is contested or an intestacy, either because of questions over the validity of the will or its legitimacy, or because the will or intestacy makes no or inadequate provision for the family. There are various courses open to challenge the validity or the terms of an estate but this is a very specialised area upon which specific advice needs to be given. We can arrange an appointment at any of our offices.
